Paul worked for about 10 years in the environmental laboratory business identifying minerals and conducting organic chemistry analyses for pollutants in a variety of matrices (soil, water, and air). After working in the lab, he taught high school science for 20 years in Colorado. Paul earned his B.S. degree in Secondary Science Education from The University of Iowa and his M.A. degree in Curriculum and Instruction of Secondary Science from the University of Colorado – Boulder. Paul retired from teaching in 2015 and has served on the board of directors for The International Foundation for CDKL5 Research since 2018. Paul lives with his wife and daughter in Superior, Colorado.
Paul was the WfG founding VP community engagement and membership director.
One of Paul’s favorite moments in high school was watching chemistry teacher Gary Rieck’s demonstration of the violent reaction that results from putting a large amount of pure sodium in water.
